The Rev. Jonathan Westerlund
Pastor Jonathan grew up on Long Island, near Port Jefferson, and lived there until attending United Lutheran Seminary on the Philadelphia campus. He has served as port chaplain for merchant seafarers with the Seamen’s Church Institute of Philadelphia and South Jersey as well as Seafarer’s International House on the port of Newark. During his seminary years he served at a small, rural Lutheran church north of Philadelphia, a small Episcopal Congregation in center city Philadelphia, and a thriving Episcopal congregation in Pottstown, PA. Pastor Jonathan served as Vicar at House of Prayer Lutheran Church in Hingham, MA, as Pastor at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Newington, CT, and is currently also serving part time at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Warwick, RI. In his spare time he enjoys playing handbells with friends, board games with siblings, and finding tall places to get a good view of God’s beautiful creation – and he looks forward to doing these things safely once the pandemic is over. Pastor Jonathan lives in Middletown CT.
