There are 2 opportunities for adult education, as well as other groups and activities. Sunday mornings, 8:30am, Adult Fellowship Class looks at the Bible, current issues, and other topics. The class is one hour, and is taught by Sue Winn. Everyone is welcome every week. Thursday mornings at 10am we have an adult Bible Study, where we look specifically at Scriptural texts, historical background, and traditions that surround the Bible. The class is an hour and a half, and is taught by Pastor Anne. Everyone is welcome!
Sunday school for Pre-K -5th grade is taught using ELCA curriculum. Students begin at 9:30am in worship, and are dismissed to school following the children’s message. They return to the service in time for a blessing during communion. Older students participate in the worship service as acolytes, readers, ushers, and, following confirmation, as communion assistants.
First communion is offered to children upon instruction when they are ready according to their desire, and their parents. Classes are instructed for 5th graders, but parents who are interested in having their children commune sooner may speak with the pastor.
Confirmation is a 2 year program (year 1: Old Testament; year 2: New Testament, and Lutheran Catechism) for 7th and 8th graders. We meet twice monthly for one hour, and have service projects, and online learning.
During the summer, we hold a 4 night Vacation Bible School event that is multigenerational. The children have Bible stories, games, crafts, and other activities, and the adults have a Bible Study based on the passages the children are learning. We gather at 5:30pm for supper together, a break off into groups following. After the activities, we have a snack. VBS is held Monday-Thursday, 5:30pm – 8pm, usually in early July.
Anyone may participate in ALL activities of the congregation, regardless of your background. If you would like to discuss becoming a member of the Lutheran church, please contact the pastor.
